Edward Brown Smith papers, 1858-2 Oct. 1905.

Consisting of matriculation card, 7 Oct. 1859, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, listing names of instructors for courses in which Smith was enrolled; and fragmentary volume, 1850-1864, "Case Book of Edward B. Smith M.D. Containing the History of Cases of Disease of more than ordinary interest, &c.," with autobiographical and genealogical notes, 21 Sept. 1864. Also including admission tickets to medical lectures at Philadelphia Institute on Medicine and the Medical College of South Carolina; reproduced copy of Smith's appointment as Assistant Surgeon General of the Confederate States of America; and 3 letters to "Anne & Richard" from Smith in Philadelphia re his stomach ache, ensuing treatment of milk and eggs, and reporting improvement and other local news.
